About Us
People often ask me, “What does FH2 stand for?” It’s short for “For Him & For Her: 2 F’s and 2 H’s.” The name represents my passion for creating beauty accessories that make everyone feel confident and shine—whether it’s on stage or in everyday life.
It all started with a trip to Korea and a pair of lashes. I bought these stunning rhinestone lashes in Seoul to wear to my husband’s company Christmas party in Toronto. When I showed them to a makeup artist and asked her to apply them, she couldn’t stop raving about how beautiful they were. Then, out of the blue, she asked, “Would you want to go into business with me?”
I was shocked! At the time, I was working as a software QA and had never sold anything before. But she owned a bridal makeup business and saw an opportunity. With her encouragement, I imported those lashes to Canada, and we started selling them to salons and spas through her network.
One day, I brought the lashes to a salon in downtown Toronto, and the owner was amazed. She said, “Maria, these are incredible! You should sell them to dance stores!” I had no idea such stores existed, but her reaction inspired me to dive into this new world.
That’s when I met a dance store owner who became my mentor. She was so generous with her knowledge, teaching me about the industry and what dancers truly need. Following her advice, I flew back to Korea, visited factories, and found partners who shared my commitment to quality.
And that’s how FH2 was born. Today, we’re a team of nine, focused on creating beautiful yet affordable performance lashes and jewelry for dancers and performers across Canada, the U.S., and beyond.
But I’m not stopping there! One of my dreams is to launch a line of men’s lashes and jewelry, especially for Hip Hop and Street Dance. Dance is for everyone, and I want FH2 to be a part of expressing that bold, dynamic energy.
Looking Ahead: Expanding FH2’s Vision
As FH2 continues to grow, I’ve been exploring exciting new ways to serve and inspire our customers—and maybe even reach beyond the dance industry. Here are a few ideas I’m dreaming about:
1. Runway by Maria
Imagine a vibrant line of swim and vacation wear designed for women who love to travel in style. Using a pre-order and crowdfunding model, we’ll focus on reducing waste while creating stunning, high-quality designs perfect for sun-drenched getaways.
2. Gift for Happy Wife
This would be a unique platform combining curated gift sets, K-beauty products, and travel tips for Korea. The idea? To make it easy for husbands to celebrate their wives with thoughtful gifts. Subscriptions could include personalized gift sets for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and Valentine’s Day—complete with a blank card for that heartfelt handwritten note.
3. The Lash Bar/ Glam Suite
A self-photo studio where you can step into the spotlight. We’ll offer complimentary lashes and jewelry for your shoot, and if the size fits, you can even borrow a cocktail dress, matching bag, and shoes to complete the look. It’s about creating a fun, confidence-boosting experience with a touch of glamour.
What Do You Think? Join the Conversation!
I’d love to hear your thoughts on these ideas! Which one excites you the most? Do you see opportunities we haven’t thought of yet?
We’re also building a new team to help bring these concepts to life. If you’re passionate about beauty, fashion, or creative business ideas, I’d love to hear from you. After reading my dream and vision, if you’re interested in joining us, here are a few questions to think about before sending an email:
1. What are you best at?
2. What do you enjoy doing?
3. How many hours per week would you like to work?
4. Do you prefer working at our location in Burlington, ON, or remotely?
(We can combine both! For example, you could work from the office once a week and from home two days a week. A part-time position could look like 3 days per week, 4 hours per day—12 hours total per week, for instance.)
I know many of you already have full-time or part-time jobs, and that’s okay! I’d love to create a team with people from diverse backgrounds who bring their unique talents and experiences to the table.
If you’re interested, send an email to info@fh2.ca, Attn: Maria, with the subject line “Re: New Ideas at FH2 About Page.” Be sure to include your answers to the questions above, and feel free to share any ideas or feedback you have about our vision.
Let’s dream big together—because the best ideas come to life when we collaborate!
